This beautiful and adventurous trek is situated in the North of Uttarakashi. This trip's main attraction is the most beautiful Dodital Lake surrounded in the midst of dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons and a large variety of species of fishes. It is believed that Dodital is the land of Shiva, and so it is frequented by pilgrims from all over India. The other attraction is the Yamunitri located at an altitude of 3,291 met. which is the source of the river Yamuna and is among one of the four Dhams of Hindus.
The adventurous journey of this trip starts from a moderate trek which is Bhagirathi Valley, goes to the lake of Dodital to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass to the Yamuna. Yamunitri's sacred temple is approachable by road and short trek from Poolchatti. Also visit the Ruinsara Lake.
Dodital: It is believed that Dodital is the
land of Shiva, and so it is frequented by pilgrims from all over India.
Adventure seekers and ardent nature lovers head here too, for they know that it
is nature's treasure house. The forest surrounding the lake at Dodital is also
full of wildlife. It provides an idyllic set up for rest and recreational
activities like angling, boating, nature watch and bird watching. From Dodital,
it's a two-day trek to Hanumanchatti via Darwa Top. Darwa Top provides a
majestic view of the Garhwal Himalayas. Yamunotri: At an altitude of 10,805 ft,
Yamunotri, the source of the sacred Yamuna River is located in the Uttarkashi
district of Uttaranchal, close to the Indo-Chinese border near the Bandarpunch
peak. The Yamuna emerges form a frozen lake of ice and glaciers on the Kalinda
Parvat at 14, 502 ft.
DAY 01 Arrive at base camp in Dehradun.night stay
Day 02 Rishikesh /Uttarkashi /Garam Pani. After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi.
The entire drive is along the Bhagirathi river. After stopover in the town drive
futher to Garam Pani . Transfer to River side overnight camp.
DAY 03 Uttarkashi
Garam Pani to Sangam Chatti, Sangam Chatti to Agoda trek 5-6 hrs.
After breakfast drive for one hour to Sangam Chatti. Arrive and commence trek
/pony to Agoda village. The entire trek is gradual ascent till Agoda. Camp
little away from the Agoda Village.
DAY 04 Agoda to
Dodital trek 5-6 hrs. Overnight stay in camp.
After breakfast trek to Dodital, one of the best Himalayan lakes. The entire
trek goes through thick forest. Arriveat Dodital and camp.
DAY 05 Dodital/Darwa
Top / Camp trek 6- 7 hrs. Overnight stay in camp.
After breakfast we start ascending through the forest on Darwa Dhar. After the
pass we descend towards the Yamuna Valley. Camp . Meals and overnight camp.
DAY 06 Camp / Seema .
Trek 4-5 hrs. Overnight stay in camp.
A fter breakfast trek further in Yamuna valley. The entire trek is gradual
descent till the camp. Arrive Seema & camp.
DAY 07 Seema/
Hanumanchatti trek 4-5 hrs.
After breakfast trek down to Hanuman Chatti . The entire trek is flat and
gradual descent. Arrive Hanumanchatti & than Dnr and overnight hotel.
DAY 08 Hanumanchatti/
Yamunotri / Hanumanchatti trek 8-9 hrs.
After breakfast join the pilgrims ,Arrive Yamnotri, the source of the Yamuna and
one of the Char Dhams. Explore the area and step back to Hanuman Chatti. Dinner
and overnight stay.
DAY 09 Mussoorie -
Dehradun Drive 8-9 hrs.
After breakfast drive to queen of hills, Mussoorie.. The entire drive is along
the Yamuna river. Local sight seeing and move to Dehradun base Camp. Night stay.
Day10 Back to respective destinations after breafkast.
